The Humanure Handbook

Now on its forth edition, this a fantastic resource for all you need to know when it comes to composting human manure (humanure).

Its a wealth of knowledge on the subject of composting, and not just how we should do it, but  why  it is so important that more of us compost our own waste.

It also gives some really interesting insights into where mistakes have been made in the past when it comes to the disposal of human waste  and the problems they caused.

I recently  spoke with the Author Joseph Jenkins and he has very kindly allowed me to share with you, both a link to purchase the e-book and a link to read the book for free online.

Thanks very much Joseph, Great book!

Who Gives a Crap

While its absolutely fine to use most non scented toilet papers in a composting or long drop toilet, it obviously makes more sense to use a recycled product. Who Gives a Crap are a B Corp certified company offering excellent quality recycled and bamboo toilet paper delivered straight to your door. In most cases it works out a lot cheaper and myself and the guests at our lodge can personally vouch for its softness and quality. To top it off they donate 50% of their profits to fund a variety of water, sanitation and hygiene projects, with over £3.2 million being donated in 2020 making them Water Aids largest corporate donors. Who give a crap? they do!

Thank you guys.
